4 Cool Spots for Sunday Brunch on Koh Samui

Koh Samui is a wonderful island belonging to the country of Thailand where everyone from the budget traveler to the wealthy can have an amazing vacation. A relaxing way to enjoy the laid back vibe of the island is to enjoy a Sunday Brunch, waking when you like and sauntering into a feast. Koh Samui has a few great places to enjoy this lovely ritual.

Go Big, Go Buffet

If you want a massive Sunday brunch Koh Samui style, check out the Beach Republic brunch called Sunday Sessions (More details here), which draws crowds not only from tourist but locals alike. Sunday Sessions is located in the Beach Republic resort which features luxury accommodations, a spa, and great food. This decadent feast features delights to tempt any palate.

Enjoy oysters, salmon, lobster, sea bass and many other seafood treats. They have many cuts of roast beef, lamb, and turkey and lighter fare such as canapes, sushi, various cold meats, and an international cheese board. Save room for desserts such as the Sunday sundae, creme brulee, and lots of other sweets. So that you won’t be thirsty, included in the price is one glass of wine, local beer, or cocktail. As you eat and drink, listen to the DJ and enjoy the island experience.

Go Native

If you want to go on with a more native cuisine choice, go to Hemingway’s on the Beach (More details here). You will find Hemingway’s on Thong Krut Beach on the south side of Koh Samui, a restful beach bar setting with great Thai food.

Enjoy fresh fish and curries made from the local seafood. There is also fried rice and vegetables, pineapple fried rice, and lovely pad Thai. For those who don’t enjoy seafood, there are such dishes as garlic chicken, chicken with cashew nuts, and other meat dishes as well. As a beach bar, you know they have great cocktails and beers, with some wine choices. Hemingway’s is also kid-friendly and adds the extra option of cooking lessons for those who want to learn to cook with native ingredients.

Go Get Caffeinated

If your idea of a great brunch focuses on an amazing cup of coffee, head for Fisherman’s House Cafe and Gallery located near Bophut Beach (More details here).

The sign outside says “the best coffee in town” and many people agree they are right. Here you can find everything from a strong cup of black to espressos, lattes, cold and hot brews, and specialty flavors. Fisherman’s House also serves vegan options, so there is something for everyone.

The breakfast is classic yet trendy with such offering as avocado on toast topped with dried rose petals and dirty french toast with bananas on thick slices of French bread, bacon, almonds, a fried egg, and a lite caramel sauce. There are also all sorts of pastries and for the non-coffee drinkers, there are juices, smoothies, and English breakfast tea. You can also find wonderful lunch and dinner options as red duck curry with lime juice and chicken Massaman.

Go with the Basic

 

If you want an English breakfast or a taste of Canada and the US, try out Angela’s Bakery and Cafe (Don’t forget to check for daily specials and updates here), also known as Angela’s Diner which is located on Mae Nam Beach. Here the different tastes come together in a perfect blend.

If what you desire is an English breakfast, come enjoy the eggs, bacon, ham, and toast made of freshly baked bread. Try the whole wheat pancakes served with blueberry sauce or some of the many fresh pastries. Angela doesn’t focus only on breakfast though. She serves up tasty sandwiches such as the Reuben sandwich which starts out with toasted rye bread then piles on homemade corned beef, melted cheese, and sauerkraut or a lovely club sandwich. There is also french fries to go with your sandwiches and other sides as well. Angela’s Bakery and Cafe is a welcome spot, large yet air conditioned for relief from the tropical heat.
