Sex Organ Soup (Hong Kong) – Eating Testicles, Penis, Scrotum & Labia! (VIDEO)

Sex organ soup2A mouth full of cock is not normally my first thought before heading out for breakfast but apparently in Hong Kong a lot of people savour the opportunity to enjoy chewing on bovine chode prior to 11am. Originally this started out as a simple opportunity to swallow some testicles but after we arrived at the restaurant it turned out that for about $11 I could actually enjoy multiple sex organs.

It seemed crazy to miss the opportunity to combine so many “delicacies” at once, after all I’m not a regular to the town of Yuen Long, one of the major satellite towns of Hong Kong in the area known as the New Territories.


The first thing to note is that all of the sex organs had been thoroughly boiled and softened. The flavour of the broth had solidly penetrated, pun intended, each and every piece which made the individual flavours of the “meats” less identifiable. The main separator was the texture. Here are my descriptions in order of preference:

Testicles: Soft like the yolk of a boiled egg, but full of purple-blue veins.

Penis: A firm texture but not chewy as such, our friend, Eric, described it as tasting like tendon (which I haven’t tried yet myself).

Scrotum: Much less appetising than the above two, very chewy and gristly fat and skin.

Labia: The worst of all, like eating a soft plastic gel, stretchy, fatty and overall foul!

Overall, testicle is the only item I’d have another go at, its not delicious but it’s certainly edible – next time I’ll be knocking back a whole one I reckon!
