Penang Street Art, Georgetown – See it Before it Disappears!

During the Georgetown Festival Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic left his mark on the city by creating street art that has grabbed peoples attention from near and far. The street art trail is quite a popular one and you can stumble upon local stores and hotels offering maps with which you can find these little pieces of art. Also, many of the rickshaw drivers will take you on a “street art tour” as many of the sites are very close together, we paid 10RM ($3.30) for a 15 minute ride.

Visiting Penang, the food is certainly a great drawcard but this touch of culture is a nice addition to George Town’s city scape and to its UNESCO heritage area.

Note: The walking tour is rammed with other tourists during the day and we even saw long lines of people waiting to have their photo taken with the artwork, when we went back at night with our rickshaw driver there was hardly another person in sight!
