Why are food stops so important?

Travelling is an amazing way to experience new cultures, and for many, a wonderful avenue to do so is through culturally specific cuisine.

So, once you’ve booked your holiday with a private jet charter for the ultimate luxury experience, it’s time to start thinking about where and what to eat.

Europe is a continent with diverse cultures and rich culinary traditions, making it an absolute dream for food lovers. Even if you’re not a huge foodie, we can guarantee you will be after a trip to Europe, so start making notes.

Naples, Italy

Starting off in the heart of Europe, if you didn’t already know, Naples is the birthplace of pizza. It is something enjoyed even in Pompeii thousands of years ago, so it’s a must-visit destination for pizza lovers.

The city’s pizzerias serve up authentic Neapolitan pizza made with fresh ingredients cooked in a wood-fired oven, which is more than likely responsible for the unique smoky flavour you can’t find anywhere else.

You could keep it classic and try a margarita pizza. But, if you’re feeling adventurous, we’d recommend you check out Pizza Alla Diavola, a pizza made of mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, spicy salami and hot chilli peppers. It’ll certainly be a taste to remember.

Perhaps a less-than-well-known fact is that Naples is also very popular for its seafood dishes fused with spaghetti. Spaghetti alle vongole is a particularly famous Napolese dish and is essentially clam spaghetti. And to accompany that, it is well worth trying the frittura di pesce, a special sort of fried fish.

But Naples doesn’t just stop there. The city that keeps giving and giving is also an extremely popular spot for pastries and street food, which might be what you’re looking for on your evening stroll after an incredible dinner.

Find a bakery and ask for sfogliatelle, a signature Italian pastry. If you want something a little less sweet, then try arancini, which are fried risotto rice balls.

Paris, France

Just a short plane ride away on your private jet is the beautiful city of Paris, known globally for its incredible pastry shops and fine dining experiences.

Home to some of the top Michelin-star restaurants, Paris truly will never disappoint. If you want to dine in style, then dishes such as beef bourguignon, coq au vin and escargots will satisfy your palate at Le Refuge des Fondus, followed by a trip to a high-end patisserie to end the night with a macaron (or two).

Whilst fine dining might be something you want to try for one night, Paris still has plenty of other things to offer you for the rest of your visit.

The street food scene in Paris is vibrant and bustling. There are food stalls and food trucks scattered about the place, and you can find a variety of cuisines to indulge in, from French to international cuisines and snacks.

London, UK

Last but not least, a hop, skip, and a jump away is London, just waiting for you to indulge in all the diverse dishes the melting pot of cultures offers.

Of course, you haven’t been to London without trying a hearty portion of fish and chips, a pie and mash, and a Sunday roast.

But let’s not forget — especially if you’re on the hunt for new cuisines you haven’t tried before — Chinatown will be your new best friend. With some of the most authentic Chinese food offered all across the UK, you’ll have to plan another trip just to come back to try Good Friend Chicken or another flavour of bubble tea from Happy Lemon.

The street food scene will keep you occupied for a while, but here are some other unique dining experiences that London has waiting for you.

For a truly unforgettable dining experience, we’d recommend going to Dans Le Noir in Clerkenwell. In this restaurant, you eat your food in pitch darkness, meaning that you rely on all your senses other than sight to enjoy your food.

Conclusion

Each city has something unique and different to offer, and no one location can replicate the other. Naples, Paris and London are just a few stops to include in your itinerary. Who knows what else you’ll discover along the way?

Bon appétit!
