Chase Away the Chill: Your Must-Have Jacket for Winter Travels!

Winter is here, and travelling during this chilly weather can be loads of fun. Whether you are a fan of visiting Christmas markets, visiting snow-covered wineries, or if you’re interested in outdoor activities like snowboarding, skiing, or ice skating, staying warm is certainly something you need to consider. So, wherever you plan to travel during winter, here’s a friendly reminder to take a comfortable heated jacket along to keep you warm all day (and night).

We recently have been travel testing our new Dewbu heated jackets, and we have to say that these heated jackets are a winter game changer that keeps you toasty and comfortable, allowing you to enjoy your time out and about in winter. I’m NOT a fan of winter but now with my stylish and comfortable heated jacket, I can enjoy outdoor activities with only minimal whinging (it used to be a LOT of whinging LOL).

Why Heated Jackets?

A heated jacket looks just like an everyday jacket, the difference is that a heated jacket has interiors filled with a technology that utilizes heating elements often made of carbon fiber and powered by a rechargeable battery. These heating elements generate heat when connected to a power source, and they are designed to distribute heat throughout the jacket evenly. As you know, trips during cold conditions require many layers of appropriate clothing to keep you warm, and a heated jacket might just be the best option for travelers because it allows you to travel with fewer layers of clothing knowing you will still be comfy and warm.

Here are some reasons why heated jackets are a great choice for travelers wanting to stay warm during winter trips:

Warmth: Heated jackets have fashionable designs that use technology to keep you warm at all times. During the day while outside in the elements visiting famous landmarks or at night on a pub crawl – you know you will be warm while outdoors.

Comfort: Heated jackets remove the need for multiple/bulky layers of clothes to stay warm during your winter trips. Unlike traditional winter jackets that rely on layers to generate heat, Dewbu heated jackets require one garment to keep you warm.

Versatility: Heated jackets are suitable for different outdoor activities, both at home and while travelling. They are also ideal for those who work outside during winter.

Energy Efficient: Heated jackets like Dewbu’s are very energy efficient. Their lithium-ion batteries can last for a long time with a single charge.

Dewbu Heated Jacket Features

The Dewbu heated jacket is an excellent choice to take on your next winter adventure, thanks to the following features:

Battery life: A problem many high-tech jackets have is battery longevity. Rest assured that you won’t have such a problem with the Dewbu heated jacket, which has a battery energy of 54Wh; think of a power bank with 15,000mAh. Depending on your preferred heat setting, your Dewbu heated jacket can keep you warm for 3.5-4 hours on high heat and 9-10 hours on the low heat.

Heat settings: One of the best things about the Dewbu heated jackets is the temperature control system, which allows the wearer to adjust heat settings based on their preference or the extent of the winter conditions. Dewbu coats have three heating modes (Low: 110oF(43C), Med: 125oF (52C), and High: 140oF (60C)), and you can always adjust the temperature by pressing the power button to keep you from getting too cold or too warm.

Material and design: Not only do the jackets keep you warm but, also stylish at the same time. The Dewbu heated jacket is available in different colours, Tommo’s has a detachable hood, whereas mine rolls up easily into the collar of the jacket, which means the jackets can work for different weather conditions throughout the day. You’re ready for anything winter throws your way!

These heated jackets are also made with sturdy materials with scratch resistance, wind resistance, and impressive breathability. Another great feature of the Dewbu jacket is its multiple zipped pockets with five different heating zones to keep you warm in seconds.

Ease of use: Dewbu jackets are an all-in-one product, so you don’t need to worry about carrying layers of clothing with you – just one jacket! Also, they are very simple to operate and the jacket and heating zones are also built to accommodate hand and machine washing…..very important with travelling!

Maintenance and Care

To be honest, heated jackets are not cheap so it’s good to think of your jacket as an investment that you can use for many, many winter adventures, and you must take proper care of it to prolong its life and performance. Some maintenance tips to maintain and care for your heated jacket include:

Removing the battery when not in use:

A great way to maintain your heated jacket is by removing the batteries when you won’t use it for an extended period. You should also remove batteries and other detachable heating elements before washing your jacket. Remember to keep the battery in a dry pouch and away from metal objects like nails and keys.

Charging with the right cables:

One of the ways to protect the life span of your battery is by charging with the charger provided with the jacket. A wrong charger can create a fire risk and damage essential parts of the heating elements.

Following the care label during laundry:

Read carefully the care label tag attached to your heated jackets to help you wash the right way. Incorrect washing can affect the heating features of your jacket and reduce/remove the jacket’s ability to generate heat. Dewbu heated jackets are water-resistant and designed to endure routine hand and machine washing, allowing easy care.

Hanging to dry:

It is not recommended to tumble-dry your heated jacket because it may damage the material. A better alternative is hanging your heated jacket to air dry.

Storing it flat:

When you’re not using your heated jacket, it’s best to store it by laying it flat on a cool and dry surface. Folding your heated jacket can add pressure to the heating elements and compromise their heating activities. Also, avoid hanging your coat by the wires.

Our Personal Review

Things We Like about our Dewbu Heated Jackets:

Tom and I have been using our Dewbu Heated Jackets for a few months now and so far so good! The first thing we noticed when we opened the box was the quality of the jacket. The material, the feel, everything about the jacket looks and feels like it is very good quality, and it looks really good on too! I recently took this jacket on a cruise as I had no idea what the different weather conditions would be in all the locations I was visiting, and while it is a bit heavy (you definitely have to wear it on the plane instead of packing it in your luggage) it was absolutely perfect to travel with.

Windy day? The jacket keeps you cozy and warm even without the heater function being turned on. It works as a great windbreaker and keeps you warm inside.

Rainy day? The jacket was perfectly waterproof when I found myself walking around Genoa on a very wet day. The outside of the jacket was dripping and I was completely dry on the inside.

Cold Day? While we haven’t used the jacket in snow yet (we will be testing that later in the month) it works perfectly on cold days. One of the plus points of the jacket is that the arms also have heating elements. Other brands we have tried, do not have this feature, and it really makes a difference when you are trying to keep your whole body warm. We LOVE this!

Things we don’t like:

Battery: The battery has what we can only assume is a “battery saving” mode and if you haven’t worn the jacket for a day (for example) you have to take the battery out of its pocket, unplug it, and plug it back in again before the jacket will heat up. It’s not the worst problem in the world to have but can be a bit annoying. The jacket does have a 2-way zipper system so you can easily access the battery pocket without undoing the whole jacket and getting cold, so this helps.

Weight: As I mentioned before the jacket is pretty heavy and if you’re travelling carry on only every gram of luggage has to count. As someone who runs pretty hot, having to wear/carry the jacket was a bit of a pain when flying. But that said, I was very happy that I had it with me when it was cold and pouring rain in Genoa – so it was worth the hassle at the airport.

Patches: I’m being nitpicky here, but as an Australian, I didn’t love the eagle and American flag patches that came with my jacket (Tom’s jacket didn’t have any patches) – thankfully these are removable so it wasn’t a problem, and I had fun finding replacement patches that suit my personality more

All in all, we really like our Dewbu Heated Jackets. They are stylish, comfortable to wear, and most importantly keep you warm! We will update the article after the jacket has been tested in snowy conditions, but from the current testing we’ve done, we can say we recommend these jackets. Even though a little on the heavy side – they are definitely something you need to own if travelling to colder climates. With a Dewbu jacket you can finally say goodbye to winter chills and hello to endless adventures, wrapped up in warmth and style.
