How to cook white rice

But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered, we’ll teach you how to create that rice you’ve always dreamed of preparing.

The most important rule you should learn is the rice cooker ratio, which says that the amount of water needed in a rice cooker is 1 cup of water for every 1 cup of rice.

First, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup of clean rice (rinsed).
  • 2 cups water or chicken broth (plain or 1 tablespoon of powdered broth well dissolved in water).
  • 1 small onion quarter.
  • 1 clove garlic.
  • 1 sprig of parsley (optional).

Now the first thing you have to know is that the cup used to measure the rice must be the same for the water. Measure the rice and then rinse it thoroughly with water in a strainer.

Then pour the rice into the rice cooker, add the water or chicken broth, the onion, the garlic clove, and lastly the parsley branch. Put the pot lid on, connect it and close.

At the end of 20 minutes you will have appetizing rice. As soon as it is finished you can lightly stir it using a spoon so that it fluffs a little.

How to take good care of your rice cooker

But after using your rice cooker, you will surely wonder, how can I take maximum care of my product? And you are right in thinking about that, so here you have some recommendations.

First and basic: if you are using the rice cooker for the first time, do not try to experiment with it. Read the manual carefully before operating it to avoid making any mistake.

Also keep the cooker plugged into the outlet only when cooking or heating, you should keep the bottom of the container and the resistance or heating plate clean and dry.

Leave the steam escape hole in the lid free to guarantee optimal rice cooking; avoid touching the outside surface of the appliance when using it. Also stay away from hot steam because it can cause severe skin injuries.
